About Me
Like most people on this site, I dream of travel, especially when having a rough day at work. I've been told that regardless of how short or long a trip is, how tired or wore out I am from a trip, and how many frustrations I've had to deal with, I'm happier and more relaxed after I've gone away for a while.
My next major adventure is to walk The Camino de Santiago (the French way) in the summer of 2018. After I complete my pilgrimage, I hope to wander Europe until I have to return to the states for work.
Ultimately, I'd like to move to Thailand to teach ESL and/or travel professionally. My long term goal is to sell all my stuff and live out of a backpack. Every yard sale and donation run gets me a little closer to this goal...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
While I've not yet couch surfed, I've met several people who stayed with friends, and I've attempted to surf couches in Iceland. After Iceland, my friend and I gave up and just stayed in hostels. While I don't regret that decision because I would not change those experiences for anything, I can't help but wonder how enriching it would have been to stay with locals instead of at hostels.
I love the idea of meeting people who share a common goal of inexpensive travel and a desire for adventure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In my opinion, I haven't done anything particularly amazing, but friends and family are usually pretty impressed when I talk about going to China to do a 10k on the great wall for my 29th birthday. I didn't finish, but it was an incredible experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would totally teach any visitors how to crochet if you want to learn. I'd love to cook with people to improve my kitchen skills, and share what I know.
