About Me

Respect people the way they are as long as they respect people the way they are! Yeah, I know this sounds extremely commonplace, but I'm convinced that everyone including myself can learn so much more about actually living this reciprocity and that if everyone actually tried, we'd live in a much nicer world.... so much for that ;) Now on to the hard facts...

I am 27 years old, I enjoy cooking and eating (oh dear!!! there's just so MUCH amazing food everywhere... so if you'd like to show me some dish or even teach me how to make it, count me in!!), sports (since recently bouldering, and basketball), partying, and I'm in for good coffee! The most important aspect about all of this is that I can do it together with friends and people whom I will hopefully call friends soon!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Trying to avoid hotels and get into touch with people and their lives not with tourist books and receptionists (nothing against them as a person, but have you ever had a long and intense conversation with someone working as a receptionist at that moment you meet?)...

I hope to get to know people who are interested in others, who like to teach me or who like to learn from me. Be it some words in a language they or I don't know, be it a new meal or be it just the positivity of time spent together and sharing some laughter. It is in everyway better than a slient hotel room lost within the anonymity of ascending and descending roomnumbers.

Interests

Travelling when I get to it.. unfortunately not enough though. Trying to learn languages well, playing basketball (so if you're open for a match, we can go and hit the court), pursuing my neuroscience PhD in the nicest work group I could imagine.

Also, recently I have started DJing a bit (really... a BIT) and I can't wait to get to learn more deep house/ tech house artists. If you're up for parties, I'm most likely in, also for other types of music as well! if you're interested, I can show you various, mainly german, electronic music artists...

Music, Movies, and Books

Hotfire, Mira, Ninze, Victor Ruiz, whatevs....

The Matrix. All of them. The Godfather. Biutiful. Breaking Bad. Some more, although watching movies is not my favorite way of spending time..

The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Handmaid's Tale, Der Richter und sein Henker, LOTR, Jugend ohne Gott, The Remains of the Day

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stuff. Amazing stuff. :P This section is somewhat of a show-off section, I suppose?

Camping alone on top of a mountain on a small island without any human being close to me. No lights. Just animals, sounds, and stars.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm up for sharing! share some good time together, share some food and drinks, and jokes and laughing... If I'm short on time to host someone, maybe I still have enough time to meet up for a coffee, or a beer, or just a chat to give you some tips in case you need them or receive some from you if I'm in need for finding my way around.

I could teach you some German, I suppose, maybe some Italian, Carbonara, Caponata, some other foods, basic drum playing. You will need to bring a drumset though, I don't have one currently.

I can learn a lot from others, I believe... what that will be precisely is up to you, up i believe one should be open to new experiences, because how should you know from the status quo that you've seen all beautiful and fun things there are in the world?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Do some cooking! I love cooking! That is, cooking and eating together.... and bread. If we have enough time, i will make some sourdough bread for you! If you can teach me any dishes you like, I will be a patient learner! Otherwise salads, pasta, risotto, pancakes, white bread, caponata.... or I would love to improvise something. The only thing I need for this is to know from you a market or supermarket where I can get the ingredients. Also, I will show you some progressive rock or house music, if you want to.
