About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to enjoy life and everything it brings me :) (does this sounds too cliché?)
ABOUT ME
Well, erm... where to start? I'm now 27, I like to think I've already seen a lot of the world, but I now it's just the tip of the ice-berg. I love to travel, especially to see mountains (they're a big commodity when you're from the Netherlands). So I like music, I play piano (sort of...) and love to sing (people don't like to listen though :P), I write poetry, play badminton, and love to cuddle with my teo cats. I finished my masters in Ecology and have a big passion for sustainability. I also love good conversations and discussions. I don't drink alcohol and I don't smoke (getting rid of all the prejudice there is about Amsterdam). I am one of the few people I know who lives this way though :P. I don't think it makes me a boring person, I like to have fun and party, I just don't feel like total crap the morning after ;).
PHILOSOPHY
I like to think that you should take everything life gives you, and enjoy it to the fullest. I am also a very responsible person and will always try to make sure my taking doesn't hurt others. People aren't perfect but you should always take responsibility for your actions, that doesn't mean you should walk on glass. Fear is a bad counsellor and don't forget to smile :).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I used to have an amazing apartment in a great area in Amsterdam. I also have a lot of knowledge about the city, since I've lived here my whole life. I hope to meet some nice people who can benefit from my help. Right now I'm traveling through Japan with my husband and would love to meet some folks to hang out and maybe some karaoke?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Already met a lot of nice and interesting people through CS meetings and hosting. Can't wait to see what more CS has in store for me...

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: The XX, Emiliana Torrini, but also things like Prodigy, The Killers, Beach boys, beastie boys, The Bloodhound Gang, etc. I always like to think there's a right time and place for every song.
Authors (just to name a few): Philip Pullman, Malcolm Gladwell, Richard Dawkings, John Dickinson and Garth Nix.
Movies: Lord of the Rings (bit cliché agian?), anything with Audrey Hepburn and Death Proof! (favourite of all times).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went on a Europe trip with a VW camper for four months.
Teach, Learn, Share
Sharing:
I have a lot of knowledge about Amsterdam and Holland and I love to share this with people from elsewhere. I also know a lot about a life without alcohol, it's a rare thing these days in my surroundings and I can share if you like. I also know some piano basics I could teach, though I have to admit I tend to be an impatient teacher :S. Sustainability and ecology are topics I love to share, but I am suprisingly bad at taxonomy, so don't go asking me what kind of flower or bird that is...
Learn:
I would love to learn how to sing so people who are listening can enjoy it as much as I do.
