About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Seeing how different people live their lives
ABOUT ME
I am very tall. I like to talk and listen. I think a lot about how people treat each other and I try hard to treat others well, whether they are near or far away. I'm a PhD student researching world trade and how it could be better. I don't like capitalism and I know there are viable alternatives to it.
In my spare time I like to play music, make radio documentaries, dress up in stupid costumes for dance parties, tell stories, play games (both board games and interactive storytelling games).
PHILOSOPHY
Well, I've read a lot of philosophy at uni, and I've even been a philosophy teacher in a school for a few months. I certainly don't know a lot about it though. But I don't really separate between 'personal' philosophy and 'theoretical' philosophy - I guess I'm very guided in my personal life by theoretical or rational thinking. Which drives some of my closest friends crazy... As for which philosophical approach that most appeals to me, I haven't decided. I don't believe in absolute values or truths, I think the world is a messy place, and humans have invented concepts like truth and morality to make it easier for us to live together. I like discussing these things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Meeting with couch surfers for a cup of tea or to see good places in the city.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
When I went to China a couple of years ago I met up with about 5 or 6 Couch Surfers in coffee shops. It was really great to meet local people, who were also interesting open-minded Couch Surfers!
Interests
I like to discuss life, philosophies and politics. Big or small things in life. I like to go out walking, running, cycling (I often go on long-distance cycle trips with my partner). I like dogs but I don't have one myself. I love museums A LOT (science museums, history, or any other kind of educational stuff). Back in London I go to a lot of free lectures and film screenings, that's one of the things I most love about living there. I like to take short trips to the countryside but I could never live outside a city.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Into Eternity, Cave of Forgotten Dreams, Kamikaze Girls. And generally any kind of informative documentary or philosophical film.
Music: Very varied. I prefer to play that to listen to music. I play a bit of guitar, bass, drums, computer.
Books: I read for a living - TOOO many to mention here. Seriously.
By the way I recently made a series of radio documentaries for a local radio station in London - check them out here: http://wurldpowur.wordpress.com.
