It's been 8 years since I chose travelling as a way of life. I was living/ hitchhiking through Latin America for two years, then left for Australia, southeast Asia and India, Australia again, Morocco, some parts of Europe, the Balkans . In 2020 I did my citizenship in Italy (my great grandfather was from here!), then I went back Argentina and now 2022 finds me travelling again: more slowly, more purposefully.

WHY TRAVEL?
After studying hard, graduating and working a lot, I decided to quit my job and travel for at least a year. What sounds as a simple decision, was the most important of my life, because it's hard to leave a stable life behind.
I try to be open minded and enjoy being in contact with people who are or think different than me. You learn a lot from diversity!
I'm not materialistic. I enjoy living a simple life, everything I have in my backpack is what I need to be happy.

Hace 8 años que empece a vivir viajando. He recorrido Latinoamérica a dedo por dos años, Australia, el sudeste asiático, India, Australia de nuevo, Marruecos, Algunas partes de Europa… los Balcanes. En 2020 (durante la pandemia!) hice mi ciudadanía italiana (mi bisabuleo era itialiano) y y ahora en 2022 he vuelto a viajar: más lento, con otros objetivos.

¿POR QUÉ VIAJO?
Luego de estudiar mucho, graduarme y comenzar mi vida laboral, decidi renunciar a mi trabajo y viajar por al menos un año. Lo que suena como una simple decision, fue la mas importante de mi vida, porque es dificil dejar atras una vida de estabilidad. Pasó mucho tiempo ya de esa decision.
Intento tener la mente abierta y disfruto relacionarme con gente que es o piensa diferente a mi. Se aprende mucho de las diferencias.
No me considero una persona materialista y disfruto vivir un a vida simple. Todo lo que tengo en mi mochila es lo que necesito para ser feliz.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think CS is a great tool to really get to know the places you visit. Local people always know which places are better to go to and how to make the most of our time. Most importantly, when I relate to locals I feel I'm out of the "tourist" stereotype, I'm a traveller, not a tourist, I travel for culture and learning, not for the all inclusive vacation pack!

Creo que es una excelente herramienta para conocer locales de los lugares que uno visita. La gente local siempre sabe que lugares recorrer para aprovechar el tiempo, cómo llegar de la mejor manera a puntos de interes, y a parte nos sacan del odiado (al menos para mi) rol de turista. Soy viajera, no turista. Voy por la cultura, por el aprendizaje, no por el all inclusive.

BOOKS:
My favourite Argentinian writer is Julio Cortazar. I also like Latin American writers like Benedetti, Lorca, Borges, and Galeano(as different as their style might be!)
I also enjoy Poe, Lovecraft, Baudelaire, Bukowsky, Kafka, Hesse... and sooo many big names that most people like! I´ve had different reading stages. I currently enjoy reading authors from the countries I´m visiting, or regular short stories compilations.

MOVIES:
I love Woody Allen´s movies! especially whenhe stars in them.
I like the confusion and smothering David Lynch creates in is films.
Pedro Almodovar is another great option when I want to watch something dramatic and artistic.

I work as an online Spanish teacher in the places I decide to stay longer,but I think everyone can be a teacher. I learn from all the people I meet, and I hope to teach them something too.
Although words are sometimes tricky to define what we believe in, talking is vital to learn from each other. Along the way I've learnt about friendship, family, love, culture, language,education and maaaaaany things from people who were dfferent from me. In turn, I can teach others from my own view about my country, the job I used to do, my trips, my hobbies, etc!

Trabajo de profesora de español durante los momentos que decido quedarme en algún lugar, a veces sigo dando clases si el pais que visito me lo permite. Creo que todos podemos enseñar algo. Yo aprendo de quienes conozco y espero enseñarles a ellos algo tambien.
En el camino he aprendido sobre amistad, la familia, el amor, la cultura, idiomas, educacion, arte, cocina y muchas otras cosas de las experiencias y de la gente que he conocido. Creo que, a la vez, tambien yo puedo enseñar sobre mi pais, el viajar, el idioma (español,ingles), fotografia, dibujo, pintura, los viajes, cocina del mundo etc. !
