Hello! My name is Sophie, I'm 21 years of age and I am an University student from the Universidade da Madeira (University of Madeira). Madeira is an autonomous island within the Portuguese Republic. It's a fairly touristic place with lots of things to do! Namely hiking, dolphin watch, surfing, canyoning and levada (small water channels around the island) walks. I must further mention the beautiful sights, approachable people and the scorching weather throughout the year.
Right now I am doing Erasmus in Katowice, Poland. I study Languages and Business back at home and I really enjoy it.
My hobbies consist on walking, writing, listening to music, spending time with my fellow classmates or discovering new things to study/read.

I want to travel around the world. That has always been my ultimate goal. To go around and meet new people, new cultures, new ideas. Get to know the perspective of reality from other people's eyes around the world. As well as getting to see things I never saw before whilst hanging out with the locals and hopefully making new friendships!
Learning languages is also one of my goals! Being able to communicate with another person in one other language besides english has always been something interesting to me. It shows that you respect them and are actually interested in their country.

For books I really love Edgar Allan Poe, lev Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Arthur Conan Doyle, Jane Austen, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, Albert Camus (...)

I got through a bad life-threatening situation and I am somewhat still struggling with it but I now try to see the positive things in life and try to seize all the moments that pass me by.

I can share with you my sarcastic and unfunny humour, my awkward and weird company and random life-stories telling how it all started! I am also able to teach you Portuguese, Danish and Swedish, along with some tips of what to do and not to do whilst you are visiting those countries (especially Madeira or Billund, Denmark). I can also teach one many things regarding philosophy and linguistics!
I want to learn about the many cultures in the world and how people feel and live. For me the human interaction is really interesting and fun!
