About Me

Hi everyone :)
I'm Sofia, a 27 years old Italian girl and I love travelling, I'm always planning trips and journeys with my friends and on my own and I'm someone sensitive, curious and open-minded, I love staying in contact with other cultures and other people.

When I travel I really try the best to "go local": before going anywhere I always look up on internet about things to see, places where to have good local food and where to get drunk hahah and CS provides the best way to learn about a culture, a city and its history.

I love to go out but I also appreciate and enjoy nights at home watching a film, having a nice dinner or talking and talking in front a glass of wine.

I also have a travel blog. I started it when I was in Taiwan talking about my life there and about my trips around Asia and I want to keep on with it because I think it's a great opportunity to give some information and advice about sightseeing, food, hotels, restaurants, bars/pubs etc :)

I love French poetry (Rimbaud, Prévert) and French literature in general

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Argentina I did many amazing things: I walked on a pre-colombian site called "Ruinas de Quilmes" (Tucuman), I climbed the Perito Moreno glacier, I visited the Iguazu waterfalls (both Brazilian and Argentinian side).
I went to the top of Eiffel Tower in Paris, I had a great paella in front of the seaside in Valencia, I discovered Kapadokia, I saw surfers in December in the Atlantic Ocean during my stay in THE US, when I went to Newport (R.I) and I also attended a real american high school for a couple of days. I spent some time in Trastevere drinking and talking wih friends and I saw a lot of amazing sunsets and sunrises in different cities (and seaside!)
When I had to come back from the Philippines I was stucked in the country (in Manila) for three days due to some problems with my passports and it was on the day of my b-day!
I had real Japanese sushi and karaoke with some Japanese friends in Osaka and during my stay there I lived in a Japanese-style house, sleeping in a futon.
I tried the "tuk-tuk" in Vietnam and I went on a party boat in Halong Bay, with other people from different parts of the world.
I tried many night markets in Taiwan, I travelled a lot in the country, I saw an amazing sunset in Kenting (south of the Island), I passed through a typhoon and I spent new year's eve in Taipei watching fireworks from Taipei 101 and I later ended up in a random under the bridge party with a Nicaraguan DJ.
I visited 5 Asian countries in 3 months and all trips were great!
On my way back to Paris from Antwerp I was stucked with Flixbus bewteen Ghent and Lille for about 7 hours due to a snow storm with no food, no water and people from Colombia, Spain, India, Germany who were swearing as much as possible hahahaha but at the end it was kind of funny!

Teach, Learn, Share

- Going local is the best way to experience and know a city (hidden streets as well as the main attractions, typical and good restaurants/pubs/cafés, seeightseeing spots...)
- I deeply love languages and I'm always willing to learn new languages or to improve those I study with local and spoken words
- I can be shy at start but after a while I always try to be cheerful and sometims it can be that I behave as If a knew someone I've just met for my entire life hahah
- I like to share my travel stories as well as listen to the others'

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm always willing to learn new cultures as much as I want to introduce mine in the best way.
I'm not a great "chef" but I like to cook Italian dishes and pasta for my foreign friends :)
I'd enjoy spending time with surfers and hosts, cooking together, talking about ourselves, our cultures and hobbies, visiting the cities, going out together for a dinner/drink and to party :)
