ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Sofia :)
I love languages, photography and travelling. I dislike filling about me sections, I prefer writing personal emails, messages, postcards, whatever!
I was born and raised in Italy, called Portugal home for some years. I also lived, studied and worked in Spain, Canada, Scotland, and France.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
at first I was just curious.
then some of my friends/flatmates in Lisbon started getting very involved and our house was filled with people all the time. I would take guests around and spend time with them, we had a pretty busy guests calendar. those were really good times and I have fond memories of the place, the people, the dinners, the endless walks and talks.
then there was a break, life went on as usual, whatever that means.
at some point, I was facing the perspective of spending months alone in a big comfy flat in one of Lisbon's most picturesque neighbourhoods, and I needed to do something about it. so I started hosting again, this time by myself, and it was beyond amazing. I could talk a lot about this, how it saved my summer and dramatically improved my self-confidence - but maybe it's a good discussion topic for a face-to-face conversation :)

What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach people how to make some very traditional italian dishes, vegetarian or not, easy or more complicated. I make very good gnocchi, ragù and I am a master at frying stuff.
I read, write, edit, translate (sometimes for a living). I can help you with all this, in a bunch of languages.
I'm also great at sharing laughters, drinks, peaceful moments when you just want to stare at the view without saying a word.
