About Me
Hi! :) My name is Sofia.
I'm 20 years old when it comes to the person I am now, to the battles I lost and to the battles I won, to the expierences and people that shaped my life, my path, the Sofia I am now in this moment;
but I'm 20 years young when it comes to all the things I still don't know, to all the places I want to go, to all the conversations I crave to have, to all the excitment in my head and the electricity under my skin. :)
Currently I'm a dancer in process/training and I'm in the 1st year of University - Foreign languages and literatures in Trieste.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I always felt like a world citizen. I'll explain; I was born in Trieste - Italy, my mum is Portuguese, from the island of Madeira-the perl in the middle of the ocean and my dad is part of the Slovene minnorance here in Trieste.
Trieste is located near the border with Slovenia and it's in a very versatile area as we can be in Croatia or Austria in just some hours, and we have the Adriatic sea and the Alps almost in the same place. The city has a very interesting history when it comes to the culture and all the different nationalities that built it.
Now you can understand how I never really found possible to define myself or my nationality or my main language just in one word. I'm lots of worlds in just one heart and it feels really cool even if it gets disturbing to more closeminded people..
I have zero experience with couchsurfing, until now I've always travelled with my family in our camper.
I am on Couchsurfing beacuse I want to get more out of travelling, meet new people, learn interesting stuff, listen to fresh stories and get to know more about the World I am living in.
Interests
As I wrote in my description box, I'm a dancer, actually I'm training to be one. :)
I started training relatively late, I was almost 13. At the time it was all about classical ballet.
After finishing high school I was very attracted by the dimension of contemporary and modern dance. Today I love contemporary dance, I think it gives you freedom, enrgy, magic. It's not just technique, it's about us, about us dancers, about us as human being. I freaking love the opportunity of working on my passion and at the same time working on myself as a living being.
I'm also interested in spreading the vegan message related to health, animal right, a brighter future for us and the planet. I have an instagram account @sofiakafol

where I try to influence other (young) earthlings to be more confident, to be body positive, to get healthier and just exchange good vibes. Feel free to check it out!

Music, Movies, and Books
Usually I forget all the names and titles, but I'll try my best. ;)
MUSIC: David Bowie, David Bowie, David Bowie, Radiohead, Coldplay, The Doors, Ed Sheran, Lana del Rey, Regina Spektor, The Beatles, Adele, Lou Reed, Antony and the Johnsons, OneRepublic, Aretha Franklin, Moby, Milky Chance, Tom Odell, Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zepelin, Keith Jarreth
If I write something at night (I write so much in my diary, still figuring out if it's a good thing or not :P )I love listening to Chopin. I created this little tradition when I was living in Florence and I had this desk under a big window and I could see the Night in its all calmness and gourgeousness.
Another thing-I find listening to the Rite of Spring by Stravinsky so inspiring. So cool. Even if it's kinda strange, specially if you look at all he choreographies born with that music.
MOVIES: The dreamers, The perks of being a wallflower (the book is even better), 500 days of summer, LOL (I prefer the French one, but I love the American one because od Douglas Booth ;P ), Gossip Girl, Forest Gump, Ria
BOOKS: The tempest, Animal Farm, Pride and Prejudice, poems by Neruda..
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Taking risks and getting out of my confort zone.
It doesn't matter if it is just wearing differnt clothes, talking to a stranger, saying something out loud, expressing my opinion, saying no, get more vulnerable. Everything counts. You just have to move.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm still quite young towards the world, but I think that talking and sharing can enrich every single person on this planet.
I'm open minded and willing to listen and learn as much as possible.
If we'll start having a conversation you will probably have to stop me, because I can start talking really a lot. Even if I can look quite shy. :D
