Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting new people and make connections all over the world since I'm traveling all the time. I like hostels but the atmosphere is often too much party'ish and all about getting drunk (or maybe I have been in Asia too long). I rather stay with a local and spend money on having lunch or dinner with my host that I got to know a little before coming, than paying for a bed in a room with people you may not have a connection with.
I like to meet people who can enlighten me.
