ABOUT ME

My name is Sofie and I live Seattle where I'm currently finishing up my master's degree in civil engineering. I'm originally from Silkeborg, Denmark, which is a gorgeous place with tons of forest and lakes. This is very fortunate since I do a sport called orienteering which for anyone unfamiliar with the sport (which is most people to be honest) it involves finding a bunch of locations in the right order using a map and a compass.

PHILOSOPHY

If you ask me the meaning of life is to be in a place you love, with people you love, doing things you love.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've not had any yet, though I'm hoping to I'll be able to very soon. I've heard so much from my brother about his experiences with CS, so I can barely wait to get started myself. I have been very fortunate in life and have already had many opportunities to travel and meet many people from all over the world. Staying with local people is one of my favourite ways to travel and so far I've had the chance to do just that a bunch of times.

Interests

I love reading books and watching good movies. I am a proud Nerdfighter and Harry Potter fan.
I also love to travel and meet people from other cultures than my own, which is one of the main reasons why I'm here.

Music, Movies, and Books

Don't really have any specific favourite music but I'm a big fan of Lucy Spraggan, Fall Out Boy, Runrig, and One Direction so it's really a wide spread of genres.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Back in 2008 I was so fortunate to go to an American summer camp which was the most amazing experience but what followed was even better. Most summers since then I've returned to the same camp as a volunteer leader and every summer is the most amazing experience. This place has my heart and I'll be returning for many summers to come.
