ABOUT ME

Hi,
I am Sofie from Norway! I’m a journalist who just moved to Oslo, and just r”rejoined” cs after the pandemic.

I always try to improve and do better, learn new things and broaden my perspective. When I’m not at work I love to be outside, exploring the mountains, hanging out with friends, going to small concerts, enjoying a quiet time at my family’s cabin by the sea, and in the winter time - I love skiing.

I became a journalist because I believe that every person has a story to tell. I am very curious and love to learn about - well pretty much all kinds of things.

I enjoy company and having a good time, but also appreciate time to myself sometimes and enjoy my own company.

I love traveling, because it always makes me see things in a new perspective. Sometimes in life, we get stuck in our everyday bubble, we forget to notice and appreciate the little things around us.
As a traveler, you become like a child again, everything is new and strange and wonderful or confusing. You have to be alert. You have to be open minded and, sometimes, just going with the flow can bring great, unexpected moments that could never be planned or arranged.
Traveling, or meeting travelers, is a constant reminder that your way is not always the best or right way, and that there is a bit, incredible world out there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hosting gives me the opportunity to invite little pieces of the world into my home, to introduce me to new cultures and perspectives and new ideas while I’m not traveling myself.

However, I prefer to host when I have the time and energy to do so - to actually connect and show people around and spend some time together. I like to show people the center and give tips on the area and mountains around.

Interests

I love to write, read and take/edit pictures. I play some basic instruments, not very good but basic (guitar, piano, the flute) - but I love to listen to music. I like travelling, playing/sports, hiking and skiing. I love trying new things. I love chocolate, candy, ice cream, good food, wine and company.
