About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy life and try something different every day!
ABOUT ME
I left home when I was 18 to live and study abroad. So far I've lived in Holland, Italy and the UK and I'm excited about where life would take me next! Obviously, I love travelling :) I moved to Bristol in 2013 to do a PhD in Economics and, most likely, I will be here for the next 2-3 years.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is what you make of it and not what people tell you it should be.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I only had my first couchsurfing experience a few months ago and I loved it! I wish I knew about couchsurfing earlier, but unfortunately it's not very popular in Bulgaria, so I only heard about it when I moved to the UK.
It's a great way to meet people and experience new places. I've only met a few couchsurfers so far, but I've kept in touch with them and I plan to meet them again. I like to do stuff together with the people I'm staying with/hosting. It's absolutely amazing - so many interesting stories fun activities that make for great memories in such a short space of time. That'a what a proper couchsurfing experience is!
Interests
Needless to say, I love travelling. I guess that's what all couchsurfers have in common :) I've seen a lot of impressive places in different countries but now I feel I want to experience something different. I don't like being a tourist, I like being an explorer. Nature is what impressed me most. Hiking or any outdoor activity is always a nice way to spend my time.
Apart from that, I find great joy in trying to sing and play the piano. I'm rubbish at both, but if you want us to get along, you should ask me to do a little showcase for you and say I sound great ;)
I love dancing as well. I teach a Bulgarian folklore dance class, which you are strongly encouraged to attend, should you happen to be around on a Friday night!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm open to different styles of music. I tend to listen to Bulgarian radio as it brings a piece of home with me, wherever I go. I like to experience different things when it comes to music as well. I tend to take a little bit of every person I meet. A German room mate I had once, introduced me to Culcha Candela - I still listen to them, every now and again. There are many other examples, and I'd love to add your favourite band to my list.
Books....I love reading whenever I find the time. Lately, I've been reading books on physiology, emotional intelligence and similar cool stuff, so be careful, I may be able to read your mind ;)
I don't think I have a favourite movie. I like the ones that mess with your head - (it's not very difficult to mess with mine!). You probably would't want to watch a movie with me, as I am one of those who tend to ask silly questions..."where did that guy come from?/why did he just do this?/ I don't understand what's just happened!" :) Some of the movies I've really enjoyed - Interstellar, Inception, The Departed, Shawshank Redemption, Shutter Island, Whiplash, The Skin I live in. Ohh, and I do love a good, jumpy horror film as well!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Stood on a piece of a floating iceberg :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some maths & stats or Bulgarian folk dancing, whichever you find more interesting :)
I'm happy to share my cooking & baking skills as well. If you are staying for a couple of days, cooking something (or at least sharing a recipe) from your home country is a must!
