About Me

- My profile is so old. I feel like I'm reading a ten year younger version of myself. It's weird. But I updated.

CURRENT MISSION

It's all about the revolution.

ABOUT ME

31. Deleting the old message where I was still looking for myself, struggling to find a job that befitted me. Now I get moneys for being a daytime librarian and historian. In the evenings I'm all about queer liberation and solidarity. This spring we made a Queer Pride happen in Ghent. I feel five years older now and I identify as tired but it was awesome.

Also I'm trying to find some time to read between doing all the activism. Sadly, not enough time. So I hope while traveling to find a lot of time in parks, and busses, and trains, and in between time.

Old profile also said: "I think it's important people think about the world and make an effort to somehow make it a better place, to be an idealist. I'm trying to have the most open mind about all kind of things." Hasn't changed a bit. Became more rad. Antifa.

Old profile said also said: "I love reading books, listening to music, talking about the world, politics, trees, wine, books, playing hide-and-seek in the forest and fog, camping and hiking, writing, vegetarian food, singing, wondering through the city, poetry that can make me cry, sitting at a railway station watching so many different people hurrying by, discovering the world on a bike, partying the night away. "
Hasn't changed either. Goold old 20-year old Sofie. Although I try to eat more vegan than vegetarian.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love couchsurfing! Hosting and surfing just the same. Meeting people, spending a great time together, sharing the city, stories, nice food :), having drinks and laughs. I just love it.

Interests

History, music, art, people, books, ecology, theatre and opera, bicycling, queer activism.
I'm the kind of arty farty too much political discussions, wine and whine. :-)

Also: ANTIFA. Can't stand fascists. Hate fascists. (look, I'm being nice).

Music, Movies, and Books

I read. That's what I do, that's what I read about, that's what I talk about. Mostly literary fiction and poetry, sometimes nonfiction about politics, history, social issues, etc. And cats. At the moment I try reading less cis straight white men (sorry Roth and Zweig, I still love you).

Come and check out my bookcase ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2016 I quit jobs and in February 2017 I decided quite impulsively to travel from Lisbon to Bologna. One month, by myself. I feel like I came back as another person. And it feels like this is just the start. Solo-travel is so amazing.

Wildcamping, because camping in the wild is like adding duusd bonus points on thoughness and coolness and it's the best thing ever.

I reached the top of the Mont Ventoux on a bike, two years after a major knee surgery. (very proud on that one).

I travelled on my bike through Flandres, couchsurfing on the way. Enjoying the summer and the freedom. Loved to visit my country that way.

I never give up, even when things rough up. I just find a way to deal with it, one way or another. Sometimes all you need to do, is adjust to the opportunities.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll indoctrinate you on queer stuff and books.

And always happy to learn more about all kind of things.

I like books, so that's nice. And bikes, so that's nice too :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

We share the city :) :)
