About Me

Hi! I'm an Erasmus Mundus Master's student, which means I have the incredible opportunity to live in a new country every semester for about six months. This program allows me to immerse myself in different cultures and educational environments, enriching both my academic and personal experiences.

Currently, I am living in Joensuu, Finland, where I am enjoying the beautiful landscapes and unique Nordic culture. The vibrant community here has been very welcoming, and I am making the most of my time by exploring local traditions and enjoying the stunning natural surroundings. In October, I'll be moving to Italy for the next part of my studies, and I am excited to experience Italian culture, cuisine, and history firsthand.

In my free time, I am passionate about sports. I love playing volleyball and badminton, which are great ways to stay active and meet new people. Swimming is another favorite activity of mine, and I enjoy the peacefulness and exercise it provides.

Meeting new people and forming connections is something I truly enjoy. I find it fascinating to learn about different perspectives and share experiences with others. This has led me to develop friendships with people from all over the world, each offering unique insights and stories.

Overall, I'm eager to continue my journey of discovery, learning, and connecting with others as I travel and study across Europe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am applying for Couchsurfing because I am passionate about cultural exchange. Staying with locals allows me to experience a place through the eyes of someone who lives there, offering a more authentic and immersive experience than traditional tourism. I enjoy meeting new people and making connections around the world. Couchsurfing provides a unique opportunity to form friendships with hosts and other travelers, which can lead to meaningful and lasting relationships.
As a budget-conscious traveler, Couchsurfing helps me save money on accommodation, allowing me to travel more frequently and for longer periods. This makes travel more accessible and enables me to visit places I might not otherwise be able to afford.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am on a never-ending journey of musical discovery. The very first type of music my ears were tuned to was the pop and rock music of Pakistan. As I grew older, I began listening to Indian playback music. Down the road, I discovered Western musicians like Blake Shelton, Nicole Scherzinger, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, Enrique Iglesias, John Newman, and many more. Recently, I have started listening to Pakistani music again, but this time Sufi and folk music are also on my playlist along with pop and rock!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had the incredible opportunity to embark on a hiking expedition to the base camp of Nanga Parbat, a truly remarkable experience that I will cherish forever. Nanga Parbat, often referred to as the "Killer Mountain" due to its challenging climbs, is located in the northern region of Pakistan. It stands as the ninth-highest peak in the world, towering at an impressive height of over 8,000 meters (26,660 feet).

The journey to Nanga Parbat's base camp is as breathtaking as it is demanding, taking hikers through a diverse landscape of lush valleys, dense forests, and rugged terrain. Along the way, I was constantly in awe of the stunning natural beauty surrounding me, from the panoramic views of towering peaks to the tranquil atmosphere of the remote wilderness.

Reaching the base camp was a significant achievement, offering a close-up view of the majestic mountain. It was both humbling and inspiring to stand in the shadow of such a formidable natural wonder. This adventure not only tested my physical endurance but also enriched my appreciation for the raw power and beauty of the natural world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share insights into my culture, traditions, and customs. Whether it’s through stories about my hometown or sharing traditional recipes, I love exchanging cultural experiences and learning from others.
I enjoy cooking and would be happy to prepare a meal from my country for my host. This can be a fun way to share my culture and enjoy good food together.
I have a deep appreciation for music and the arts, and I can introduce my host to new artists, genres, or even play some music if they are interested. Sharing playlists or attending local cultural events together could be a fun way to bond.
Above all, I bring an open mind and a positive attitude. I’m eager to engage in meaningful conversations, share laughs, and create memorable experiences with my host.
I am deeply appreciative of my host’s generosity in opening their home to me. I aim to be a respectful and considerate guest, helping out where I can and ensuring a pleasant experience for both of us.
