About Me

I'm a person eager to learn and, therefore eager to meet new people and discover new cultures. I cannot host anyone right now - I used to do it and it is a real pleasure - but I certainly want to meet up and try to help you and guide you as much as possible. I'm a vegetarian and a bookworm; I play musical instruments, and my main passion is language and literature, so I like to learn about the language and literature of your country (or books of your interest) ...

I have been reading and writing Persian Poetry since I was 8 years old. I became specifically proficient in dealing with Hafez, Khayyam and recently Rumi from the classics, and Sepehri and recently Farrokhzad from the modern Persian Poets. I also have an insight into English Romanticism and Spanish lyrical poetry.

I am ontologically a "Panpsychist", epistemologically a "Phenomenologist", and axiologically a "Naturist", and both as part of my personal interest and my academic research, I have been working on Rumi's "Existential Spirituality".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people from different cultures, learn cultures and practice languages ... Also, finding friends and connections around the world and offer my humble hostility which is an important part of the culture I grew up in.

Interests

I'm struggling with the concept of interest and I feel I like everything and nothing at the same time. One thing is for sure though, art and humanities are the fields I'm really interested in, and pure nature and genuine cultures are things that can keep me happy for a long time ...

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Music Album : Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd

Favorite Movie : 12 Angry Men - Sidney Lumet

Favorite Book : The Clown - Heinrich Boll

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent about 30 hours in the nude within a natural environment with a female friend and far from civilization, in my homeland where even showing hair for the ladies or wearing short sleeves for men is illegal. As a naturist that was above and beyond for me ...

I also had the privilege to perform my music in front of one of my musical idols, and "with" another one of them in two different performances.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm Ready for Language Exchange
I teach musical instruments and Music Theory
I'd be glad to photograph anyone as one of my models or as he/she desires in any scene

and I'm crazy about learning new things (everyone has a fascinating story to tell) ...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can play musical instruments for you, teach you Persian and/or English, and how to play the Harmonica, Setaar (Iranian Traditional) or foundations of Music Theory ...

I also can give you insights about Perso-Islamic Mysticism (Rumi & Khayyam specifically) that you will never find in these watered-down, mis-translated, market-oriented, self-help books ...

I'm not the greatest cook, but I know some Iranian dishes and some of my vegetarian recipes (like my cheese mushroom pasta) have stood the test of time :D

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates

Countries I’ve Lived In
