Overview
About Me
I wouldn't consider myself an avid traveler but I love exploring new places and meeting new people. I've had the privilege to travel around much of Asia, but this coming fall (August to Dec), I will be exchanging in Canada so it will be my first time visiting the North American region!
I love food, music (and I listen to pretty much everything), hiking and photography (although I don't pretend to be good at it, haha). In my first year of university I picked up Kendo, which is a Japanese martial art, so I'm actually keen in trying out other sports and martial arts too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love going on adventures and experiencing each city and place as a local, so Couchsurfing feels like just the right kind of travel experience. It'll be great if we could share a meal, take a day hike, and learn more about different cultures!
(I'd love to host guests sometime in the future when I get my own apartment, because my mom calls the shots at home now)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On a whim and severely unprepared, I explored Tokyo alone 2 years ago! It was quite crazy considering that I can neither speak nor read Japanese, and I also didn't have wifi with me (and so no Google Maps or Google Translate). But I relied on the kindness of strangers, and my gathered courage to navigate around the city. I consider myself largely introverted and soft-spoken so that was a big thing for me. It was times like these that I found the joy in solo travels, and how it could really be a lesson of self-discovery too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm willing to help with my fair share of chores, and some cold jokes that I've picked up along the way.
I can cook a decent plate of fried rice with omelette (I think) and I'll be most happy if I could do that for my travel buddy someday!
