Overview
About Me
A small-town girl from Finland, exploring the huge world with her backpack and sometimes tangled thoughts. Enjoyer of small things and big feelings.
I study journalism at Turku University of Applied Science, but currently live in Helsinki, Finland.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am fond of connecting and sharing moments with people from all the walks of life. Cliche, right? Well, I kinda like cliches.
I also believe that while traveling, the best things are not experienced inside the hotel room walls or at the crowded sights - the things I remember the most from my trips are the nights spent drinking tea and eating a decent loaf of bread with new soul mates. Break the routines, look through the facade and you might just as well find the true nature of travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste of music is quite versatile, but right now I listen to loads of Finnish indie music. So by hosting me I can give you a lesson on Finnish music. I promise, it will explode your mind! Otherwise I am forever a pop punk kid at heart - All Time Low, Simple Plan, Yellowcard, The Summer Set, We The Kings. All sorts of acoustic music is also close to my heart.
What comes to movies, I'm more a tv-series kinda girl (Criminal Minds is my obsession and Dr. Spencer Reid is my hero. Latest show watched: Gilmore Gilrs). Books, Harry Potters. I think I was a wizard in my earlier life. I also enjoy a good biography - it is interesting to read what others have chosen to do with their time on planet Earth (I guess the curiosity of a journalist plays into that just a little bit).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking up Mt. Batur, an active volcano in Bali, at 3am to watch the sunrise (that never came, thanks to thick layer of clouds). I also completed the breath-taking Tongariro Alpine Crossing, a 19km hike around active vulcanic area (something about climbing and volcanoes seems to attract me).
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Finnish in all forms - language, cooking, music
Learn: YOUR culture, routines, way of life - what makes your life great, maybe it will make mine even better as well!
Share: chill hangouts, morning runs, evening swims
What I Can Share with Hosts
As said above, education in Finnish music. I'm also a decent cook, especially what comes to vegetarian dishes. I might not be a great story teller, but I'm still fond of sharing my adventures and hear about everyone else's.
