About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Experiencing life one painting and philosophical conversation at a time!
ABOUT ME
Warm Greetings Everybody!!
I'm GaBy... I'm 33.
I'm a fine and decorative arts appraiser. I also sell art and curate shows.
Formerly, I was a docent and art educator at one of the world's most unique art educational institutions called, The Barnes Foundation, in Philadelphia. They have the world's largest collections of Matisse, Cezanne and Renoir paintings. You'd enjoy looking it up on google. If we meet I'm sure it'll come up and I will share some of my thoughts and insights about the place by establishing educational, philosophical, socially progressive and aesthetics contexts... along with humorous and sometimes mystifying anecdotes.
In the past decade I have spent a number of months at a time living and studying in Europe and participating in Philosophy and Aesthetics conferences. I focused on approaches to teaching philosophy to children and learning about museum education & ethics and training to be a philosophical counselor.
I want to creatively reflect what I've learned and introduce people to educators, artists and philosophers... you know, those special pedagogues that make learning embodied and transformative for those undergoing it.
I want to engage with people, and document my travel which is informed at its core by a love and curiosity for philosophy, art, educational practices, culture and shared experiences with new people.
I love the idea of CS... In my home outside Philadelphia, my previous partner and I had people stay over all the time ( not necessarily through CS) and it was always a positive experience.
I might not always be able to accommodate you depending on my work and travel schedule, but if I can, I'd be happy to host you.
PHILOSOPHY
I suggest we undergo aesthetic education so as to become sensitive perceivers of those little moments in life that help transform common everyday experiences and render them with significant meaning...
