About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn, explore, grow and become.

ABOUT ME

I am a yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner, focusing on heart-centered, compassionate healing. In addition to this work, you can often find me in the garden digging in the soil, or tromping around the mountains with my dog, Bosco.

I graduated from college with a BA in English and a primary focus on poetry. I am a freelance editor, writer, and marketer.

PHILOSOPHY

I am trying to see every opportunity as a learning experience and as an adventure. Even if it's the mundane day to day, there is something to be gained.

"To live is the rarest thing in the world, most people exist, that is all." -Oscar Wilde

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed in Europe and hosted in Portland.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met this girl at a reggae show in Portland and found out that she was a couch surfer. Immediately we hit it off, understanding something about each other as a fellow traveler. I offered her a place to stay if her plans fell through, and the next day I got a call from her. She only stayed with me for a night, but it was great to help her along her journey.

Interests

Yoga, bluegrass, hiking, backpacking, poetry, rocks, beautiful places and interesting people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking the Colorado trail in the summer of 2012, I experienced some of the most incredible skies. Above 12,000 feet, there's very little space between you and the clouds. One evening in particular, after the daily afternoon thunderstorm had rolled through, the sky lit up in all directions, all different colors, deep blues and purples, reds, bright oranges, yellows, pinks. I stood in awe and gratitude for being able to witness such a rare and beautiful moment, a perfect display of nature's incredible power to entertain and amaze.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be happy to share a yoga practice with you, or exchange recipes, or teach you how to can (depending on the time of year).
