About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To explore the wonders of the world. From the beauty of nature to the beauty of man I hope to see as much as I can. I hope to encounter the best of people, even in the most unlikely places.

ABOUT ME

I'm not sure if I am capable to write "All about me", but I will try. I got out of high school and tried college for a while. After a couple of years I had the opportunity to travel around the U.S. with some friends. We spent the first three months playing music for tips on the streets of many midwestern cities. We camped in the Ozark mountains of North-western Arkansas. We saw countless music festivals. We experienced people from all walks of life: travelers of all kinds, homeless people, wanderers, rich, poor and everything in between. Almost all showed a sincere kindness to me that I will never erase itself from my heart. The idea of a stranger offering their house to me while I was down and out became the creed of my adventure. Even when it seems the majority of people are indifferent, it is amazing how easily you find the open-minded, generous, kind individuals.

PHILOSOPHY

Personal philosophy, huh? This has always been hard one for me to nail down. I have a pretty possitive outlook on life. I believe that if you are open to the universe than it will provide everything that you need. It may not provide for you in the way you expected it to and it may not be the exact way you wanted, but it will provide for you.

I am a pretty mellow person and I'm easy to get a long with. This attitude has allowed to me to interact with people and often times develop instant friendships. Since I have been traveling for so long, it is important to make friends quickly. Bypassing the initial awkward, getting to know you phase can be kind of tricky.. but it has become an important part of my social skills.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have been a part of hosting a few different groups of people in a shared house in Boulder, Colorado. I make an effort to listen to all travelers I meet along the way and help them any way that I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In Boulder, Colorado we hosted two amazing street performers from Columbia. They were extremely polite and it was my pleasure to be able to meet them.

We hosted a traveler from Germany who was also very fun. We went to a nearby pub and talked about life. He was a blast.

When traveling through Chicago, myself and three friends slept on the floor of a really cool host. She did everything she could to make sure we had a great time, even though we required almost nothing. It was my first couchsurfing experience and I cannot imagine any other better first time experience.

Interests

I am interested in all sorts of things.

Music is at the top of the list. I listen to lots of different kinds of music: Iron and Wine, Kings of Leon, Memphis Slim, Grateful Dead, Railroad Earth, Thelonious Monk, and many many more.

I have been playing guitar for the last several years. Over the last year I have picked up the harmonica, the piano, and the hand drum... at least a little bit.

I love hiking, seeing the outdoors, new situations, new people, new cities and good times.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of different kinds of books, movies and music. For the sake of time and sanity I am not going to list them. If interested anyone can always ask.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in a van with two other guys traveling around the U.S for three months. I learned how to live in close quarters and I learned the value of "being on the road." The road feeling is a mentality that will forever be ingrained in my psyche.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think everyone can share their outlook on life. In learning the way others see the world, we can learn more about the world ourselves.

I know a little about a lot of different things. So many different things that it is hard for me to peg down exactly what I know anymore.
