About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeing the world in a different perspective

ABOUT ME

I just recently bought my very first house. I feel so grown up now.

I have a bachelor in History with a minor in journalism and another minor in law. After that I did two masters, one in International Relations and one in International Law. My areas of expertise are the Second World War in Asia; the Dutch East Indian Company (VOC) and Genocide.

When I'm not busy, I love to walk or bike around a bit if it's sunny. If it's rainy and I don't need to go anywhere, I like to relax at home reading a book, a few comics or watching some series. That, or I invite some friends over to have some drinks and play a couple of games.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had quite some couchsurfers crash at my place since I joined and so far it's always been a good experience. I think it's really cool to talk to everyone and learn more about their culture and perspective on life.

Interests

Exploring new things and finding new views of life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading, while I was a student I often had too little money to satisfy my cravings for literature. Now that I'm working I have too little space to put all the books and the bookcases I bought - #firstworldproblems. Later, when I'm rich, I'm going to have myself a personal library with one of those cool stairs-on-wheels so I can drive around the room looking for the books I want to read. There'd be an amazingly comfy chair and one of those awesome globes which is secretly a liquor cabinet with a big bottle of whisky in it. We're talking dreams here people - dreams! - who cares about reality. :D

I love reading about (fictional) history. What-if stories are the best. I'm still planning to write my own someday.

I listen to mostly anything, although there're a couple of music genres I really can't stand.

Movie-wise, I prefer the so-called 'mind-fuck' genre, Donnie Darko being my favourite movie.
