About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To host a surfer from Antarctica

ABOUT ME

I'm all about having new experiences and seeing things from two clicks to the left. I wish for a life of learning, laughter and love. I believe in freedom of choice and the pursuit of happiness. My philosophy is, "I can and I will" followed by, "It won't be pretty and it won't be fast, but it will get done."

PHILOSOPHY

Patience, compassion, gratitude, impermanence. Respond in kindness, not in kind. "There is nothing perfect; there is only life." Laugh out loud and hug too tight. Give everything away.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I clean up after myself and will do your dishes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a couchsurfing virgin no more! Tom, Sam, Cory and Shane popped my cherry in September 2008 during my four days in Denver: camping, hiking, "Panic"ing, footballing, hammocking, climbing. It was an A+ experience that I often talk about.

Since then, I have hosted guests from North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and South America. If you're from Africa or Antarctica, I'd love to host you, too!

Interests

Hospice, COPS and cops, reading, reading out loud, space and science lectures, folk music, conjoined twins, American history, documentaries.

Music, Movies, and Books

Deep Survival: Survivors have an open mind and heart, see the world through eyes of wonder, and can get stuff done! Music with words that rhyme. Memento. Singer songwriters.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I've done is to have loved with my whole heart. It hurt like hell when it came time to break up, but for me, living and loving with your whole being is the only way to live. Oh, and I learned to swim in my mid-30s and went on to do triathlons!

Teach, Learn, Share

My greatest lesson so far in this life is that being selfish is fundamental. When I am happy, I am fulfilled. Only then can I reach out to others to share, to console, to celebrate.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belize, Cambodia, Canada, Cook Islands, France, Guatemala, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
