About Me

ABOUT ME

I am enthousiastic and willing to experience the best of life! I Generally, every new / different / unexpected / susceptible-to-make-you-evolve thing or topic instantly catch my interest, so the to-learn list is relatively endless, and matched only by the to-explore-and-experience one :)

From June 2015 to October 2017, I hitchhiked across Eurasia, to Hong Kong from Paris (and Tokyo on a detour :)), with 1317 friendly drivers. There is a roadmap in my pictures if you want to have a look :)
Before that, I worked in marketing for wind energy.
Then, I settled in Hanoi with my girlfriend (www.couchsurfing.com/people/jaimepatriarca) for a year, working online as a freelance translator and using it as a base to discover South-East Asia.
Now, it's time for New Zealand!!

PHILOSOPHY

Make life as intense and beautiful and meaningful as you can! Be kind. Only fear regrets.

Interests

I love traveling, discovering people and cultures and coutries as deeply and truly as possible (I should enter a "slower traveler" competition given how much time I spend in each country ^^), sharing experiences, reading, writing, history and geopolitics, going to concerts and festivals, partying, learning all the time, hiking, hitchhiking, seing beautiful landscapes and places, discussing a lot (day and night), and a lot of other stuffs! But clearly the most important always: Enjoying Life!

Food and gastronomy also. I'm vegetarian (no meat, fish or seafood), but I love discovering and making discover new dishes :)

Music, Movies, and Books

It would take a while for any of these 3 categories...

Let's try for books: from Sterne to Proust, from Dostoïevski to Garcia Marquez, from Yourcenar to Melville, from Woolf to Céline, from Bradbury to Asimov, from Orwell to Kafka, from Joyce to Musil, from Rabelais to Kennedy Toole, from Kessel to Kazantzakis, from Khadra to Mishima, from Conrad to Hesse, from...

For music, I love pop, classic and jazz when it's to relax, love the other styles too, and always happy to discover new artists :)
Among my favorites are Arthur H, Austra, Bénabar, Bjork, Brel, Bob Marley, Cabrel, Chopin, Clean Bandits, Coldplay, Daft Punk, Dido, Duke Ellington, Dyonisos, Eminem, Emma Louise, Florence and The Machine, Gainsbourg, Gorillaz, Gossip, Higelin, Iggy Pop, Indochine, Kate Bush, London Grammar, Louis Armstrong, M, Maroon 5, Massive Attack, Michel Polnareff, Mika, Miles Davis, Mozart, Noir Désir, Paco de Lucia, Piazzola, Placebo, Radiohead, Red Hot, Satriani, Schubert, Supertramp, The Alan Parsons Project, The Do, The Eagles, The Killers, Tryo, William Sheller, and many others :)

For movies, well, two lists for one question are probably enough, even if I've got a lot of favorite movies. So, let's talk about it if you want when we'll meet! :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Experiencing Benin, meeting wild giraffes in the bush in Niger, attending a Michael Jackson concert, attending a Bouddhist ceremony lead by the Dalai Lama, seing a sunset from the top of Mount Mose, writing a novel, playing in an Iranian TV series, paragliding, diving, skydiving, hitchhiking across Eurasia, being in love with life, and as many other experiences as I could!
