About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Make the world a better place through design and creativity, being the best mother I can to my 7 year old son and 11 year old step daughter, being the best teacher to my students and teach them about those important things in life
ABOUT ME
I believe I'm a creative, active, friendly, smiley and curious person with a big heart and strong opinions. I love, respect and appreciate nature, people.. I'm usually always positive...I can be stubborn, too happy in the morning, difficult to cook for ("did you know these preservatives can give you asthma, stroke, cancer and migraine?", "why did this banana get sold in a piece of polystyrene and ten wraps of plastic??").
I've got a broad area of interest within the art field and work with painting, video, wearable art, clothing design (re-design), jewellery, photography, illustrations, graphic design, dance, music, installation and bodypainting... I also spend my time doing yoga, dancing, walking. Yes, I love walking... I love listening to music and have a good jam (I play percussion, jew's harp, guitar, and I'm learning to play this wicked old gypsy accordian that I found). I spend time reflecting on life, I like reading books and learn new things, observing, be with good friends and meet new people. I like the smell of the ocean, the feel of summer rain, I like soap bubbles, festivals, the colour green, and waking up with the sun shining on my face. I like the little things. I'm also quite passionate about making the world a better place to live for everyone (not only humans), and are of the human/animal/nature-rights-fighting, organic food supporting, love sharing, truth-seeking, culture-jamming, anti-materialistic, anti-war type of person and quite politically active. I usually have a lot of things on at the same time and are not the type of person you find watching a useless tv-show very often. I crew up in Norway but have spent 6 of the last 8 years in New Zealand. I love travels but more the hitchhiking, low budget, sleeping-under-a-bridge (or on a couch...) way of seeing the world and experience cultures.
I came back to New Zealand January 2007 and have since then been spending all my time, energy and savings on saving this beautiful 18 acres of bush from being sold to development or as fancy housing for rich people. Kahikatea Eco-Village & Art-Space became official in June 2007. It is a long way to go still to become self sustainable which is our dream. I'm working in the puzzle factory here designing and painting puzzles, as well as doing administrating, management and event organizing for the village.
2016 update: Living in countryside Norway with my 7 year old son, my boyfriend and his 11 year old daughter. We got plenty of space and are surrounded by beautiful nature, and we´re lucky to have a nice little river on our property

Interests
saving the world (or at least doing what I can to make it better), art, dance, music, yoga, meeting new people, creating Kahikatea, well, most of it is mentioned above really… I have previously been the leader of the local Amnesty group and FIOH (Future in Our Hands) and support other organisations like Adbusters, Greenpeace and SOS Children Towns.
