Overview
About Me
I worry about days when I'm not laughing. Life is meant to be celebrated. Live. Laugh. Smile.
Everyone has feet itching to travel. Of course. It's fun -- you meet people, fall in love, learn about the world, create memories, you grow and understand yourself better.
I'm a mean person 😂 kidding. I like honesty -- but only if these two can make you laugh and won't hurt feelings. 😂 Being able to insult someone and make them laugh about it and end up loving themselves and embrace their imperfections is beautiful -- I indulge myself into that.
My palate has very low standards it finds 90% of food on earth delicious. Needless to say that I like eating. And drinking too, but not "drinking" drinking, I like soup most especially, and I believe anyone who can make good soup is someone I can fall in love with.
As you may have noticed, I fancy the idea of love and soulmates and believe that one day I will find that special someone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing so I can find a couch and a roof under my head when I'm traveling to a new place. To meet people and learn from them, get inspired.
An extra special bonus would be to meet people you could eat an apple with on sunny Sunday afternoon while sitting at the edge of the road.
Interests
Traveling -- I've traveled to Morocco, Taiwan, China, Austria, USA, Indonesia, Norway and Sweden. Mostly by attending conferences and volunteering.
I served as a facilitate for the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchnage and Study (KL-YES) Interfaith Harmonious Workshop in Rabbat, Morocco. Then went to Jakarta, Indonesia after that event to attend the Young South East Asia Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Generation OCEAN Workshop.
I spent a year in the US as an high school exchange student. I was hosted in Lake Station, Indiana and attended Thomas Edison Jr./Sr. High School.
In China, I was one of the 100 volunteers abroad in celebration of the 100 years of American Field Service in the Philippines.
What else. Taiwan was a good one. I was there mainly for tourism. I was not attending any conference or training. And me and my friend took this trip because we got a Piso fare. We paid almost nothing for our plane tickets.
Then I was in Austria to attend Generation Democracy by the International Republican Institue.
And finally, I traveled to Sweden and Norway to attend the International Training on Dialogue and Mediation.
So, over the past ten years, I've traveled abroad mostly for studies and trainings.
On painting. I did a project before on mud painting. It was a winning project after pitching at a program called Sea and Earth Advocates (SEA) Camp.
I taught high school students from my city how to paint using mud as medium, and capturing marine ecosystems as their painting subject. The main objective of the project was to raise public awareness on the importance of protecting our marine ecosystems -- the mangroves, sea grass and corals.
On public policy. I co-founded a non profit think tank organization called Bangsamoro Policy Research Institute (BPRI), an organization devoted to research, through partnership with the academe and communities, on public policies in the Bangsamoro region which we then recommend to the Regional Legislative Assembly.
And finally on Engineering and Sustainable Development. I took up Electrical Engineering during college. I am now taking up my masters on Electrical Engineering and on September, will start the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree on Sustainable Transportation and Electrical Power System.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music -- George Ezra and Hozier.
Books -- Stephen King, Paulo Coelh, Dan Brown, Rick Riordan, JK Rowling. (yeah, I know, too mainstream 😂)
Movies -- Beautiful Mind, 500 days of Summer, Rent, and I know it's a series and not a movie but I just have to mention it: GAME OF THRONES 😂😂😂
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmmm, that's yet to happen for sure. I guess surviving the struggles (literal and sad sad struggles -- let's not talk about depressing things 😂) of my life. Graduating from college and all that.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach.
"Too many years of education and yet no one teaches us how to love ourself"
I don't know. I have some knowledge on history, engineering, politics. I can perhaps share my insights on topics related to these fields.
Geez. This is a tough question. 😂 I genuinely beleive that from every person, there is something I could learn from. But never really thought of it the other way around.
Learn.
I would really love to learn other languages. Though I'm on Duolingo and has conquered the German, French and Spanish skill trees 😂.
Share.
Anything sharable. I like sharing. Not because I have a lot but I guess because I knew how it feels like to have none. (awwww I'm gonna cry. 😂). But seriously, the world will be a better place if we learn how to share our blessings (not talking about money, cause not everyone has that). I believe there is something everyone can share. Say, love and smiles, happiness.
