About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference" - Robert Frost
ABOUT ME
I was born and raised in the United States and moved to Canada in December 2005. I have lived in Montreal ever since, although I do tend to get severe wanderlust if I stay in one place for too long. I love learning about different cultures first hand by experiencing their way of life through observation and participation. I love art, music, literature and intellectual sparring with people who aren't afraid of a passionate debate. I love to be around people who live with compassion and consideration for the results of their actions... I have very little tolerance for apathy!
I am impulsive and spontaneous to a fault!
My dream is to structure my life in such a way that I can spend it traveling the world immersing myself in culture, adventure, and experience, while at the same time making some tangible positive difference, however small, and establishing the security and love of a family and a home.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in the beauty and resiliency of the human spirit. I believe in living with passion, empathy, and ambition. I believe that on my deathbed the only things that will truly matter will be the experiences I've had and the people whose lives I've touched and who have touched mine. I love learning and expanding my understanding of the world through first hand experiences and an open mind.

Music, Movies, and Books
The list is too long to go into but the short version is:
Movies - The Princess Bride, Monty Python, L'Auberge Espagnole and anything that makes you think. I love independent films.
Music - Jazz, classical, rock - I LOVE Patricia Barber
Books - The Shadow of the Wind - AMAZING in both the original Spanish and the English translation.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent a month backpacking around the middle east alone. It was a powerful eye opening experience. I felt deeply honored to be invited to participate in an Egyptian Muslim wedding in Luxor, Egypt where I had the opportunity to dance and laugh with the most amazing, warm, welcoming and beautiful women and girls, even though they couldn't understand a word I said and I speak virtually no Arabic.
I spent two months living in the woods in Northern Ontario planting trees where loggers had cut down the forest. I planted two thousand trees a day for two months... a contribution to the health of our forests and our world.
I'll soon be spending three and a half months in Nepal to do research at Sherpa museums and to volunteer at an Orphanage on the outskirts of Kathmandu.
