Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Connecting with people in all ways
ABOUT ME
I actively create community and education using technology to contribute to bettering people's quality of life using technology to bring people together across disparate perspectives.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm excited to be alive during this time. I am fascinated by new generations of people who don't have to struggle to break down barriers and arrive able to express and fulfill themselves, aware of what they came here to do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As we go into dark times, literally and figuratively, it is even more important to reach out to connect with others, to share the moment, contribute to each other, and make a difference in the world to create more light.
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can assist with html, expanding reach in online networks and spreading the word
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted some great people, couchsurfed, and learned effective ways of finding couches.
Interests
Pursuing comedy and writing as creative outlets. Go barefoot dancing weekly in Berkeley. Regularly attend futurist discussions. Welcome hugs and embraces of all kinds.
Other insterests include: New technology, web, ways that technology is being used to change the nature of work, film, music, literature. Ways that people live, choices people make and how people respond to obstacles and survive challenges. Anything that makes this a better place to be for everyone. I enjoy reading about the art of computer programming although I am neither an artist nor a programmer. I like smart people and people who challenge my presuppositions.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Scott Pilgrim, KickAss, Brothers Bloom, Brick, After Hours, Baby Its You, Me Natalie. Harold and Maude remains my all time favorite movie, perhaps because it portrays my philosophy and has helped to keep me going. I'll watch pretty much anything Woodie Allen directed, and anything John Cusack is in.
Books: I like reading about the philosophy of software development and design. I've read everything by Chaim Potok. I enjoy much of Neil Gamen's books, both graphic novels and others. I'd love to discuss Jaren Lanier's You are not a Gadget manifesto.
Music: Bob Dylan, Modest Mouse, Neutral Milk Hotel, Animal Collective, Beck, Radiohead, White Stripes, Owls, No Age, The National, Matt Sheehy, Minor Threat, The Beatles, Los Campesinos, Sun 0))), Nirvana, Arctic Monkeys, Dirty Projectors, Battles, Hella, Mountain Goats, Japandroids, Deerhunter
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I played Buckminster Fuller's World Game with him present at the world future society back in 1980something. I started a business that enabled people to communicate one to many before the internet and email, using the telephone. I drove cross country from San Francisco to New York in 3 days (with someone else).
Oh one - nope, can't limit to just one thing! ...try to do amazing things, be present and generously share smiles and hugs daily :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I have knowledge about recovery from emotional illness, addiction, and dysfunction. I love computers and have experienced the history of the microcomputer first hand, but my lessons are about how work and using computers has changed - not the technical insides. I am a natural organizer and leader, and am still growing up and owning all that I have contributed and have yet to give.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My willingness to listen, curiosity and interest in what they are passionate about.
