About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be as interesting as I possibly can be.

ABOUT ME

Well - I grew up around the world. Never called any place 'home' until I finally landed in Toronto.

I work from home running my own stuff online, which affords me the time to dabble and learn in this and that. From reading to guitar to offbeat activities like flintknapping and survival camping (intense), I thrive off of learning and experiencing new stuff.

PHILOSOPHY

#1. Don't think too hard
#2. When you have a choice, always go for the more interesting one.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host. I've surfed. I go out to events. Fun times to be had for all.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've bounced around on enough friends' couches that I sometimes feel more comfortable sleeping on a couch than on a bed. Hell, when I got back to Toronto, I had a couch on my second week back. It took me 9 months to get a bed.

Interests

Well - I'm retired. So a lot of my time is spent figuring out what to do next. Idle time is fun, but I'm really addicted to learning new stuff. I've taken classes that range from singing to guitar to woodworking to cooking to car mechanics to housing construction whatever else in between.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Dumas' books, and like Orwell a lot too (though I think Huxley was more accurate). Insightful stuff like Guns, Germs, and Steel is the kind of meaty reading I love to get into.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Glaciers. The intensity of the blue and how fake it looks tramping up between two mountain tops cannot be explained or caught on camera. Have to see it to believe it. And no the dirty glaciers in Iceland with ash through them don't count!

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, Colombia, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Laos, Netherlands, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

Argentina, Canada, Japan, Saudi Arabia, United States
