About Me
Hi there and nice to meet you! :)
I am Solveig, 29 years old and I am super happy to finally be able to host guests on couch surfing. I am an outgoing, friendly soul that is very curious about the world and other cultures. Travelling has been a huge part of my life until COVID, now I'm slowly trying to implement it in my life again. As long as I am not traveling myself, I don't want to miss having intriguing and eye-opening conversations or just a lot of fun meeting people from all over the world.
I studied British and American studies at Leipzig university and did an exchange year abroad studying in Hong Kong. It was an amazing and transformative experience and I always love to think back. From when I was young I was really interested in Asian cultures, especially the Japanese culture and was a big anime and manga geek. I would love to visit Japan again one day and maybe stay a little longer.
In my free time I really enjoy music, I sing in a choir and friends of mine and I started our own a capella group last year. Aside from that I am an outdoor person, I love to hike, I also really enjoy biking and I love bouldering (still indoors though). Even though I don't own pets I really love them and hope to have a dog or a cat one day.
Game nights and events with my friends are also a big part of my life, especially in winter.
I am always interested in getting to know new perspectives and worldviews, but I am not going to accept racist or homophobic, sexist or chauvinist behaviour.
To me we are all equal, have similar dreams and hopes and it sucks that we live in systems of structural discrimination and exploitation.
