About Me

I love adventures, I always want to see what is around the next corner, just offer me an adventure and I'll say: "YES!"

My heart belongs to music, photography, art, but over everything - to nature, traveling and adventures! It's not always necessary to travel far, far away, because adventures are everywhere, just go outside and look around you! :)

Here - www.solveigaspiedzivojumi.lv - you can find my adventure photos and stories (sorry, stories are in Latvian, but photos are international language)!

Interests

I would like to spend all my life traveling, traveling and traveling... Big dream? Yes, but I'm trying to figure out how to make it real.

My biggest passion is music. I play several instruments - guitar & kokle (Latvian traditional string instrument) I play in a post-folk band, but just for myself I play also piano, recorder and accordion. Sometimes I enjoy writing songs as well.

The best place for my spirit is nature, no doubt. Mountains, meadows, ocean, sunrises, sunsets... I love it!

I love hiking! Just get lost in the nature and let the road become my home. "The mountains are calling and I must go." [J. Muir]

One of my biggest hobbies is photography. Miracle of capturing the moment.

I love art - to create artistic works and to enjoy art made by others.

Music, Movies, and Books

The most beautiful music in the world are the sounds of nature - wind, rain, birds... If I should choose my favorite music style, I would say rock music ("Led Zeppelin", "The Beatles", "The Doors", Janis Joplin, etc.) and folk music - music where you can find emotions, passion and truth. And you know, there is one more undervalued music - silence.

I don't watch movies very often, but when I do that, I like movies which make me think or inspire me. I wouldn't say they all are my favorite movies, I would say those are movies which I suggest to others: "Faces Places", "Van Gogh: At Eternity's Gate", "Dances with wolves", "August Rush", "12 Years a Slave", "Labor Day", "Eight Below", "The Way", "American History X", "Gran Torino", "Tracks", "Lion", "Under The Sun", "Liberation Day".

I love books and reading, it's one more way how to travel. Few of my favorite books: "Wind, Sand and Stars" (A. de Saint-Exupery), "A Walk in the Woods" (B. Bryson), "The Little Prince" (A. de Saint-Exupery), "Desert Solitaire" (E. Abbey), "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" (R. Bach), "Winnie the Pooh" (A. A. Milne), "White Fang" (J. London), "The Last Season" (E. Blehem), "A Wolf Called Romeo" (N. Jans).
