About Me

I'm Chinese, and I'm currently backpacking around the world.
I started my first backpacking abroad when I was 18yrs to Nepal and India for 2 months, and that's when I realized there is a bigger world and I wanted to see more.
After I went to America for 6 years to study and work, during the holidays, I visited Europe and Mexico, also some road trips inside the America.
After I returned to my city in China for 2 years, then I moved to Hainan Island in China for 3 years during the Covid.
After the lockdown ended in China, I quit my job, packed my bag, and I’m back on the road. I started in China to some places with great nature but hard to access before, then I started my Southeast Asia trip, and this year I'm in Africa 🌍
(Because I have traveled a long time, sometimes I miss Chinese food, and I would like to cook couple meals if I could find ingredients for us if you don’t mind to try Chinese flavor)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
From my previous solo backpacking experiences, I feel that staying in hostels doesn’t really provide me with a true local experience. Instead, it’s the local people I meet during my travels that give me a more immersive and insightful experience. I'm appreciated when local people show me around, tell me the situation about their countries, also without taking me anywhere but gave me some local tips or suggestions.
So with CouchSurfing I could spend less for more adventures, meanwhile I can meet decent people with mind open experiences. I like to have some meaningful/ insightful conversations that we could learn from each others, and open our mind more. I like to think humanity and philosophy way to discover different cultures.
*I’m here to meet friends, not romance🤝
To all the host:
Communication is the key, I would like to explain a bit about my situation before you decide to host me, in order to reduce any unnecessary misunderstandings.
As I mentioned before, I enjoy having deep, meaningful conversations, but at the same time, I’m a quiet person and need some alone time to recharge. So I would appreciate it if I could have some private time and space. Ideally, it would be great to have a private room, or you could tell me more about my sleeping situation in advance.
I completely understand if some hosts prefer not to have guests stay alone in their home. If that’s the case, I’d appreciate it if we could discuss it in advance to make sure our schedules align.
Also, if you’re hosting other people at the same time, please let me know in advance where I’ll be sleeping and if I’ll need to share space with others, so I can plan accordingly.
Lastly, if hosting me won’t work out, no worries at all, but please let me know as soon as you can so I have time to find other options.
To the surfers and hosts who want to hang out:
If you offer to pick me up, show me around, or invite me for a drink or a meal, I’ll understand it as a kind gesture without expecting anything in return. Please don’t put me in an awkward situation later by asking me to pay. If you’d want me to pay anything, that’s absolutely fine with me, just let me know from the start, so we can make things straight 😉
