About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hike the Pacific Northwest Trail

ABOUT ME

I'm a student at the University of Florida majoring in East Asian Languages and Literature with a specialization in Japanese Language. I am also trying for a minor in Information Systems and Operations management.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a big proponent of nonviolence as an ethical philosophy. In terms of travel I believe nearly all places in this world have something interesting to see or experience and I am open minded towards the idea of traveling just about anywhere.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in a scholarship house off campus where we are allowed to have guests for a night or two. In total there are 16 guys from all over Florida, we get along great and we'd love to meet people from anywhere.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met with one local Gainesville couchsurfer to get a feel for the process and learn more about the details.

Interests

I'm interested in anything that has to do with computers and information technology. Also as you can probably tell from my pictures I very much enjoy hiking. Along my travels I also picked up some skill in Photography and have quite the collection of interesting photographs from my time in South Korea and Japan.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music and I don't mean that just as a platatude. I do have a strong preference for electronic music and tend to enjoy more mellow styles over high energy genres.

Science Fiction is my favorite book genre likely because of my strong interest in everything technology related.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Mountain climbing in Japan was without a doubt my favorite experience in that country. It allowed to to get off the beaten path and see places and meet people outside of the usual Japan tourist experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm good with just about any computer or electronic related items and have learned love the years many different ways to use the latest tech and gadgets to improve my travel experiences and life in general.
