CURRENT MISSION
Finding Pleasure in Simple Things
ABOUT ME
Open-minded, welcoming, friendly.
I work in television/web and print production as a designer--hands-on making things, not doing web design. My first love is cycling and I've been a long-distance cyclist since I was a teenager. My life has had its inconsistencies, but there has always been a bike in it :) I love kayaking and paddleboarding as well and when I travel, prefer challenges and adventure to sitting on a beach. The challenge, of course, could be figuring out where to go next :)
PHILOSOPHY
Uck, Twitter.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have always been a budget traveler- either via camping, hostelling, or meeting people and sharing accommodations (before CS existed :) ) I think it is the most fun and fulfilling way to travel. I lived in Washington, DC almost my whole life, and loved to take visitors around my beautiful city. Now i live in Barcelona, and want to travel in Catalunya and Spain as much as possible. I can't currently host people because of my roommate situation, but I do hope to host again one day.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Only surfed a couple of times, once in Savannah, Ga (US) and once in Copenhagen, and both were very happy and enriching experiences, as were the few times I've hosted :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Sedaris, Dickens, Austen, Twain, Fielding, Sarah Vowell, Junot Diaz, Tolstoy, many others. Very eclectic taste in music--I like pretty much everything except crappy top 40. Favorite movies? All over the map, but in the top ten: Princess Bride, Singing in the Rain.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Car trip with my son a few summers ago from Portland to LA. Being with him was the best part--the gorgeous scenery was icing on the cake! We also went surfing in Costa Rica in December 2014: Amazing!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Will repay your hospitality/couch/floor with chocolate!
