Overview
About Me
Hi. My name is Somashekar Reddy. I'm an Engineering graduate and currently preparing for competitive exams conducted by the Government of India.
I'm a sports and travel enthusiasts. I play tennis on a daily basis. I've also served as a captain for my University (JNTU-H) in the year 2019-20.
Apart from that,I love is traveling. I've almost travel entire India with my family. But the best experience was when I've been to Russia(Saint Petersburg) for a youth exchange program for 40days and staying at a host place. It truly showed me the difference between a tourist and a traveller. It was like an enlightment. The best part of that trip was when I got to closely observe the local culture(food, music, tradition, art, literature, movies, etc).
This trip changed my perception about people around the world. My biggest learning outcome after that trip is I started truly believing that the world is a large family and irrespective of race, region, religion, etc most of the people around the world are peace loving, care about fellow beings and are enthusiastic to learn about various cultures and help each other who are in need.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would say that the only way to truly connect with a place is by embracing its culture. And this can only be possible when we get to live in a close contact with the locals. And this is one platform which can bring me close to the local people who reside in a particular place.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I really have no clue what to say but as of now all I can think is that I would be able to introduce them to our culture here in India and especially of our state(Telangana). And apart from that my city I.e.; Hyderabad is known for its splendid history and food. The food list here is never ending. But the best thing which I would pick is Hyderabadi Biryani and Osmania biscuits.
