Overview
About Me
Hey there!
I'm Someshwar (everybody eventually comes round to calling me Somu, which I don't mind at all :P). I come from a small village near Bangalore in India but grew up in Jamnagar (Gujarat), did my undergrad in Civil Engineering in Chennai (Tamil Nadu in southern India). Then, I moved to the US (Stanford, California) to a quick graduate degree in Construction.
I currently work as an engineer in construction management in Long Beach, CA. I aspire to work towards better governance of global infrastructure projects through practical knowledge and on-field experience.
Ready to relax at home, and ready to go out any day! I like to go for runs, biking, hiking, or just do nothing on the beach during my free time.
Things I can't say no to: the beach, tea, swimming, jamming and burgers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling in the US is expensive, and couchsurfing seems to be the best way to solve this, make new friends, and make memorable moments! :D

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't have any particular taste in music. If it sounds good to me, it doesn't matter. Right now I'm digging lo-fi. I love classic rock music too! Mark Knopfler is my idol, and I'd die to get a chance to see him live. (dream came true on 22nd Sept. 2019 in Los Angeles).
Not much of a reader, but love to read once in a while if someone recommends a book passionately.
Love non-fictional movies in general, if it's fiction it better be a horror movie! :D :D
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I got the opportunity to volunteer at a monastery in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (through AIESEC) for 2 months where I taught English to underprivileged Vietnamese people.
This was my first experience of traveling and living independently, every second of which I cherish even today. I got to make a lot of friends in Vietnam (obviously :P) and even from across the world who came for a similar purpose.
This experience has motivated me to travel and explore and meet new people as and when I can and learn more about how the world works. :D
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would love to share my not-so-awesome life experiences, and also would love to jam and travel around and explore if they're willing to.
