I share and support my husband's mission: "to create community through group singing." This is what we do while we travel.

ABOUT ME

Steve and I sing together. We do what we call Alternative New Age (Yoga Music), but we also perform Blues, Jazz, Americana, and French songs. Last December (2008) we left our beautiful home for the adventures of the road. We have been playing music and singing ever since. Planting seeds along the way to create a vast and supportive network for our music and mission.

Here more about us, and our current musical adventure:

In 2000, Steve wrote down his intention "to create community through group singing." Shortly thereafter, Steve went on retreat with international chanters Deva Premal and Miten, where his journey into leading group singing began. Later, Steve and Anne-Émilie's voices met before they did while participating in one of the chanters' voice workshops. Since then, Steve and Anne-Émilie perform and travel around the world together. They sing for yoga retreats, workshops, classes, and at spiritual centers. The couple also leads group singing, offering a blend of sanskrit mantras, American spirituals, Native American chants, African and sufi devotional songs. Those musical Satsangs are a wonderful opportunity to be nourished with the healing vibrations of the voice, and to celebrate the joy and spirit of singing in community.

In September 2008, they released their CD "So Much Magnificence" a mix of acoustic songs and chants ideal for yoga or relaxation. The music is infused with spirit, beautiful melodies and heart melting harmonies. The title track of the same name is included on Shiva Rea's new CD compilation "Yoga Sol," and instructional DVD "Surf Yoga Soul." In 2009, Shiva Rea commissioned them to remix the last song on their album to be used on her new online video trailer “Pranification,” and during her yoga teacher trainings and workshops. Their new and inspiring digital EP is a compelling call to live life with authenticity. It contains the sensual remix of Let Your Heart Be Known, and Purna, an uplifting rendition of the Vedic mantra invoking infinite pureness.

Interests

To sing! To sing is to allow breath and sound to vibrate in the body. This vibratory resonance opens the channels in the body and a unique transformation of energy is experienced as joy, freedom and present moment awareness.

To cook! I love discovering flavors and textures. I love to learn to make everything from scratch.
