About Me

Hiya, my story is not as interesting as everybody else's. I was a full-time school teacher for 10 years and taught primary and middle school. I always had a monotonous job where I was teaching students the same syllabus and coming back home. The Covid duration changed my life; I had the most wonderful time during those two years. In those years, I realised my passion and talents started showing up within. I started trekking which I had not known earlier, hiking, painting, and cycling. Almost every weekend, I used to explore new places and cycle not only in the city but outside.
I was born in Alibaugh but brought up in many places, it's kind in my blood to accept things and adjust accordingly. One day, I realised that I must do something different in my life and build some confidence; something that would make me proud of myself. After giving few month's thought, I resigned from being a school teacher and planned for my first SOLO trip to Uttarakhand state. First I planned for 15 days only but how it got extended to 2.5 months, didn't realise it. Anyways, that was my first SOLO trip.
I rode to all four Uttarakhand Char Dham (Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath) routes by myself on a self-supported bicycle. In between, I got acquainted with some amazing riders and also beautiful people. I got huge support from pahadi people. and realised that our country is not as bad as people show.
After coming back, I got a taste of travelling and didn't want to end, looked like it was just the beginning. In the next few months, I packed my bags and went for another cycling trip from Delhi to Kanyakumari. This trip took 193 days to be precise to finish the ride.
In these past 2.5 years, I have faced good times and bad times but I have never let bad times pull me back. I also met people from different backgrounds, cultures, traditions, and languages and had different thoughts and views but that never stopped me from moving ahead and supporting myself. It made me more strong and powerful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To share my piece of small journey and also learn from other people. I find a great platform where one to get mingle, connect and understand how life is. You get to share and listen too many enriching journeys. Through this platform I have come across some amazing souls and friends who are there one phone call away. One can acquainted with diverse culture, traditions and perception people have and the best part is you want to accept and respect those despite being different. Its a wonderful feeling. It is a rich bag of experience and I cannot thank enough for it.
During my adventurous journey, many couch surfers and people have supported and helped me move ahead and I wish to do the same for them and others. But because I stay with my family and they are not very comfortable, I am unable to host people in Bangalore. In case anybody is traveling to Bangalore and wish to have a cup of coffee or tea, I am up. I have met couple of travellers and have tried my best to show around locally. Happy traveling!
