About Me
CURRENT MISSION
get a hobbby-dream-job (or start my own business... in the future) as a baker or a patissier
ABOUT ME
Hi there! I'm Sonia, originally from Warsaw, Poland.
I'm doing Master degree in biotechnology at the University of Warsaw, and already have a BA in English studies and BSc in biotech.
I love exploring the world, especially through language, cuisine and history.
I LOVE travelling around UK. I've probably visited more of it than of my own country...
PHILOSOPHY
'future is not what you see (...)
it's not what it used to be'
those very, very simple words of a Foals' song became so revealing for me at one point in life. There's no use in crying over spilled milk.
I also try to find my own self and stick to my principles, whatever they are.
Thanks to those I'm really happy with who I am now.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If you're coming to Warsaw I can point out and meet at the best cafes and areas with beautiful historic houses (the things I personally enjoy seeing when travelling :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Stayed with absolutely amazing and immensely inspiring hosts in England: - Kendal, Lake District - I will never forget making dinner with hand picked herbs form the forest in the most beautiful area on the Earth
- Liverpool - the most chill out, fun and trendy hosts I've met!
- I took part in some of the couchsurfing social events in Manchester with an inspiring and so, so, so positive and caring host
All that was so cool, I love couch surfing, there are always remarkable people there.
Interests
English language, British culture - I've studied English at the Uni and I absolutely adore it. I'd love to immerse into English life, culture, history and know it inside out!
Food and everything about food - cooking, nutrition knowledge, tasting... I really believe that food is a vital part of our lives and one of the keys to get to know other cultures thoroughly.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - rock and its various genres but mainly alternative, indie, post punk and post punk revival and classic rock + some of indie pop.
I listen to Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys, The Last Shadow Puppets, The Smiths, Joy Division, Foals, The Black Keys, . Recently also French music from the 60s, 70s- Serge Gainsbourg is fasctinating, Jaques Dutronc.
I can boldly say that music is my second biggest hobby (after English studies). Amateur, though. I love reading about the history of popular music. Currently trying to get to know about music production.
Books - I love the Beat Generation. Some say that Kerouac is overrated, but I personally feel him and appreciate the ambience, the feelings, the observations he's sharing trough his works. I feel like I'm stuck in the 1960s. I hope that's not a bad thing :D
Films - I love watching films and I have some strange pleasure in analysing them amateurishly :). I love 'Trainspotting' by Danny Boyle, films by David O. Russel, and also coming-of-age films like 'Perks of Being a Wallflower' by Stephen Chbosky.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I still can't belive how extraordinary my trip to Hadrian's Wall was. A breath-taking landscape, absolutely beautiful, but the most exceptional was the proximity of history - standing by the Wall I could clearly imagine Picts in the valley beneath and the Romans around me. Just WOW!
Teach, Learn, Share
I think I could teach you Polish cooking and Polish language
What I Can Share with Hosts
Polish sweets if you'd like to try! And my sense of humour, tales form my travels, and information about history, literature etc. of the region :)
