Overview
About Me
I am a Swiss transplant in Edinburgh, missing the mountains and the fatherland but celebrating the city's green beauty (after living in grey London) while cherishing the company of the love of my life. I am an educator both by profession and by vocation and love children and young people and being part of their journey through the exciting years of growing up.
I might hold a lot of views that will upset you. For an agreeable person I seem to have disagreeable beliefs (although many of them would probably have been shared by your grandma and have just recently become taboo). One thing you can rely on, however, is that there will be nuance in my approach. I will always consider multiple angles and their opposite. If, just like me, you can thoroughly respect and genuinely like people who hold views you disagree with, we can be friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because it shaped my twenties and I can't let go of it yet - commercial or not.
It has opened the world, taught me giving and taking, brought me friends and was instrumental in the meeting of my future husband.
Interests
I find value in relating actively to nature, fostering community, engaging with history and the stories of my ancestors and in immersing myself in spiritual practices.
I would love to engage more in "re-villaging" my surrounding.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Jazz standards, folk music, gentle melodies and voices that carry emotion.
I like to jump around to Balkan folk, fall asleep to Hare Krishna devotional music, dance to Swing with my love in the living room, eat dinner with Jazz or celtic music, and sing English church hymns on Sundays. And I can always - always listen to Tom Waits.
I like reading novels from other cultures, youth fiction and fantasy, myths, the occasional bit of non-fiction about history, ecology or religion and I ADORE picture books! And as an English teacher I guess Shakespeare, Dickens, Steinbeck and co. are unavoidable...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Changed my mind.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can make you vegan dinner or dessert, share wild CS stories and possibly even bring Swiss chocolate.
