About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Herr Rossi sucht das Gück!
ABOUT ME
Nice to meet you, I'm Stephan. I enjoy laughing, making close friends and having a good time. Also getting to know the world and people. Basically, I'm a hippie, although I hide it quite well. Traveling is important to resharpen one's own identity, me thinks.
...Which wasn't my top priority for the last years, because of University, lack of money, a many-years-relationship and general dullness.
Also, I´m a vegie.
PHILOSOPHY
Stay open minded and be vulnerable, even if there seem to be much too much people who are totally selfish, over self-confident, showing-off, not giving shit about others, all because they don't have a reason to look beyond their own backyard sometimes. I hate those people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
You can sleep on my couch or use my comfy hammock. I'm also willing to show you around town, have a beer or two and introduce you to good friends.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Traveled to Glasgow to see that goddess Grace J. live. Real cool experience! Enjoyed some early summer days in Sweden, too.
Interests
Hanging out with nice people, all sorts of events, concerts, festivals, swimming, sun, nature, juggling, acting in theater. And I'm a Linux-User which means I hang in front of the PC a lot :)
The diversity of the city.
I'll be looking different each time we meet, don't be surprised.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy the "difficult-to-read-but-worth-it"-books!
I like medieval Parzival and postmodern, wordplay, gender crossing fun stuff, if adding some sex-and-violence to it (Jelinek and Kathy Acker) they are on my book list.
I'm addicted to all sorts of comic books and graphic novels. 'Herrn Hase' and 'Donjon' by Lewis Trondheim, Jacques Tardi and my role model, Neil Gaiman and Joann Sfar (Klezmer).
Movies:
He who never enjoyed the dumb action movie shall cast the first stone!
And again, well, the surprising or disturbing ones: All sort of Japaneses' (Takashi Miike, Norifumi Suzuki's 70s sleaze & Hisayasu Sato) and European independent (Godard, Herzog, Breillat, Tavernier, Gaspar Noe, Asia Argento, Maria Beatty to Woody Allen and Leos Carax) - but also stuff I grew up with, BBC-Series, Robin Hood with M.Praed, Monty Python and cheesy Eighties Teen flix that have either bad music, hugging, Robert Englund, a bunch of lost kids stumbling into adventure, or at least Matthew Broderick in it.
Music: Zappa, Fela Kuti, Anekdoten, Indukti, King Crimson, Bjoerk, Nina Simone, Sade, Grace Jones (who gave me the bomb autograph!), Joe Jackson, Counting Crows, Jefferson Airplane, Embryo, Ween, GutsPieEarshot, Mariee Sioux, Anna Ternheim, Morrissey and Natalie Merchant and so on, and so on.Adding a category: I like worldmusic over wave and for Radio Station I love fip (french)!
And also, radio plays, spoken word.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was traveling India (which totally flashed me anyways!) with two girls for some weeks, we happened to be at the Ashram of Satya Sai Baba at Shivaratri, the Night of Shiva. From where I sat, I couldn't watch Sai Baba's manifestations well, but only seeing hundreds of black crows or ravens nervously and tense gathering on the temple ridge before the guru's actual appearance gave me the shivers.
