Overview
About Me
I'm a van lifer who's taken some time off from work to travel and study. I have a Bachelor's degree in Applied Linguistics, and I enjoy studying languages, philosophy, ethics, and history. I'm traveling from coffee shop to coffee shop reading and writing. I hope to pursue a master's degree in the near future, but I have some goals I'd like to accomplish first. In addition to the books I'd like to read, I'd like to master basic conversational fluency in German and Spanish. I live for deep, meaningful conversations. I also enjoy running and working out at the gym.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to meet new people. I have a nice living situation in my van, but I want to connect with the people in the towns that I encounter. My best friend travelled across the U.S. with the Couchsurfing app, and he had many great conversations and shared in many fascinating experiences. I would like to do the same.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite fictional book is Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. I also greatly enjoyed Brief Candle in the Dark by Richard Dawkins.
My favorite musicians/bands are The Lumineers, Shaky Graves, and Tyler Childers.
My favorite movies are The Imitation Game, Tolkien, Agora, and Colonia.
My favorite TV shows are Frasier, Parks and Recreation, The Handmaid's Tale, Vikings, and Stranger Things.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I would say that converting my van into a nice living space was a pretty amazing thing. It was in terrible condition before I received it, and now it's quite cozy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would be happy to help with any housework available. I am also a great conversationalist. I can play the guitar and the piano (on a play-it-by-ear level) and sing, and so I can join in if you are up for playing some music.
