About Me
Hey, I'm Sonya! I just joined couchsurfing and I am looking forward to meeting vibrant, interesting people and seeing so many new places! I am currently an environmental engineering student in Pittsburgh, PA, and am planning on traveling for a while after I graduate in December. I love all things art, music, films, cooking, etc, and am open to discussing anything and everything. Let's link up and chat! :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: ambient music, international music, jazz, house, electronic, r&b (Sade!!!), shoegaze, triphop- portishead, massive attack. I was in the top 0.01% of Four Tet listeners last year :0
Movies: Big big fan of foreign films! Abbas Kiarostami, Agnes Varda, Jacques Tati, Wes Anderson, Godard, Araki, Tarkovsky, Cronenberg, Wong Kar Wai, Bergman, Sean Baker, Paul Thomas Anderson, Jim Jarmusch, Claire Denis. Love me some slow-burning movies about the human experience!
Books: Kerouac, Camus, Dorothy Allison, Murakami, Dostoevsky, Bell Hooks, Hemingway. I lean towards nonfiction books or fiction short stories but am a fan of pretty much everything!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I worked on a hydroponics/aquaponics in the north of Israel last summer!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you Russian swear words (my parents are from the former Soviet Union). I'd love to discuss music, film, art, and philosophy. I love to make food and am eager to exchange recipes and cook together! Tell me about your fears and passions, and let's exchange interesting stories about life experiences. Show me how you live- I'd love to learn about you and the city you reside in!
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, France, Iceland, Israel, Mexico, Netherlands, United States
