I have traveled through 22 countries all overland. In Asia I hitchhiked 13,000 km in 3 months from Iran, through Pakistan, India & Myanmar, exploring many villages and cities.

My longest journey without coming back home was in Asia, 1.5 year.

I don't fly unless travelling overland is impossible. In Europe I traveled often with train and sometimes hitchhiked.
