About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just doing whatever makes me happy :)

ABOUT ME

Hi my name is Sophie, 27 years old and living in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I speak three languages: French, Dutch and English. And a little bit German.I play the violin and I like to (wind) surf (I am member at a surfclub) and ski/snowboard. I studied (CMV) Social Work in Rotterdam but after my bachelor I decided to travel for a year in Asia. 2 years ago I travelled to Australia, New Zealand and Thailand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Through a friend I ended up at a meeting in Rotterdam at a cafe (De Twaalf Heren). But I heard of Couchsurfing before because I had a research about South-Patagonia how to develop eco-tourism. Couchsurfing is a good option!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I Surfed in quite a few places in Europe and Asia and lately even in my own country :) which is great! I hosted some people but mostly I am quite busy. If there is a nice festival/meeting/event organised (by CS or not) it is nice to have a couchsurfer to go together.

Interests

Sports: Ski/snowboard but also watersports: Surf/windsurf/wakeboarding/diving and meeting different people from all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Documentaire: ' A map of saturday' is amazing. But ' Into the wild' and ' memoirs of a geisha' are great movies too. Music: all sorts like: Techno, Dubstep, classic but also RHCP, Coldplay, Jack Johnson. Books: Stieg Larsson: The girl with the dragon tattoo etc. and ' First they killed my father' about Cambodia (Khmer Rouge).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ok is it also ok for 2 things? Well 1: travelling a whole year alone in Asia (actually I was never alone because you meet so many great people) and 2: skydiving in Ozzy

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to host people who are genuine and sharing. When you are surfing at my place it is normal that you share your experiences and make conversations. That is the whole point of CS. Information about your culture for example. Also it is normal you read my profile carefully before you send a request call me: Sophietje and I will know you read this.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I work at the Tourist Information so I can show you around the beautiful city Rotterdam.
