About Me

#KoreanwhowanttobeEarthian
#lovetolearnfrompeople
#designthinker #facilitator

I love to travel and learn from diverse cultures, so I was in Vancouver, Canada last semester and now I'm in Copenhagen, Denmark as an exchange student.

Are you interested in Korea or Asian culture?
I want to share my cultural background by eating Korea food together(don't worry I will bring!)
and having an interesting conversation!

Also, I love to know about your experience too =)
(Please read my "life design" journey in one amazing thing I've done!)

I'm so excited to meet you and share stories!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really love to learn from differences by conversation and experiences.
The reason I'm on Couchsurfing is learning more about the country that I will travel and sharing my cultural experiences too.

I'm originally from Korea, lived one semester in Vancouver, Canada and now staying in Copenhagen,
Denmark as an exchange student.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to collect childhood books from the countries that I traveled :)
The reason I look around children books is that those are "the first education materials" for kids.
Also, I can learn the cultural differences through children books from diverse countries. So one of my international collections is a children book🤣

Alphabet books usually represent the cultures of the countries. For example, during the exchange student in Vancouver, I met Canadian alphabet book that explains C for Canoeing and S for Surfing. It reflects the outdoor activities in Canada nature.

I'm now in Denmark as an exchange student and I met one interesting Alphabet book in here too. (In the first video) There are only Alphabet and drawings and there are no words related to them. Through this book, parents can make their own stories elaborating the situation which gives more chances to interact with their kids. I'm so excited to meet other European Children books that give me insights and helps me think outside of the box.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

"Life Design" Coaching!! :)
I worked as a life design coach by traveling all around the world.
I met more than 150+ people from different nationalities and did 1:1 coach or workshop with them by empathizing their stories and questionings.

Below is the reason why I start the " life design "

Our Public Education system can teach knowledge and skills.
But they can not teach us how to discover and understand ourselves.
Especially in Korea and Asian culture where I've grown up, is highly competitive and result-oriented society.
Therefore, social status or how others think become priorities in our life. (which cannot be sustainable.)

I believe that everyone has their own answers in themselves.
However, there is few who can reach there by themselves.
That's because there is no time to stop and reflect about themselves
(everyone is busy all the time haha) or there is no one who asks the right questions to help their discovering.

Therefore, I created life design materials based on the Stanford University course [Design Your Life] with passionate design thinkers and facilitators in Korea. After that, I helped more than 20 people in Korea and Canada.
All the time, I did both facilitate the process and analyze how it works.
Based on my observation and people's feedback, I changed the contents over and over because design thinking is repetitive iteration between prototype and test.

"I cannot give the answer but instead I try my best to ask questions that help them to find their own answers by themselves."
"The only thing they need to prepare is the time for truly themselves not for unlimited to do lists of works."

What I Can Share with Hosts

First of all, I can bring some Korean foods(rice, noodle, snack, etc) that easily cook and share! Also, I want to share about Asian culture and perspective where I've been grown up.

I will also want to present you the small gifts that I brought from Korea.

If you are interested, we can talk more about life design too! :)
I really love to talk about different experiences and learn from people!
