Hello,

My name is Sophea Lun, I am 25 years old and was born in Kandal province, Cambodia. In 2017, I graduated from Norton University of Cambodia with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Currently, I am a master student in Engineering management at University of Debrecen, Hungary.

My life goal is to train to become a highly qualified engineer and work in the construction industry. I believe such problem-solving oriented work to be very enjoyable, and I want to assist my country to grow with the quality and standards of construction as in more advanced nations. My aim is to reach for and hold leadership roles, to be a project manager and developer, and lead my team through challenging projects.

Having born in the middle-class family, I am somehow luckier than thousands of people at the same age as me in the rural areas across Cambodia. I was provided with education since I was a very young age in a very well-known school. Ignorance the idea of being hard-working in school, I failed to understand the importance of education. I spend most of my time doing unnecessary things, like playing video games, hang out with friends, and causing problems in school. Things changed ever since I reached the age of 18, I could see people challenge one another to be the most outstanding in class, which made me feel regret about my past experience dated back to school. Nonetheless, I do not take losses as a personal affront. When the glass is broken, it is broken. Discouragement makes us unhappy. So, I told myself that this experience was very practical since it has taught and activated me to study harder under which condition. I believe that we do not get given a second chance with time, so we must do our best to make every minute purposeful and enjoyable for ourselves and those around us.

I enjoy gaining new skills and experiences and developing greater aptitudes. I see myself as responsible, loyal, dedicated, and with a strong sense of commitment. I believe nothing is impossible once we have set a clear and decisive goal, and then move forward with a detailed and realistic plan toward its ultimate achievement.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
