Présentation
À propos de moi
I have had a fun and adventurous life so far. I grew up with my French family in California. Much of my younger days were spent between working seasonal jobs as a river rafting guide, bartender / waitress and traveling. I later became a teacher and taught in California, Ecuador, and Alaska, where I now live. I have been in Alaska since 2004 when I came up to help a friend start a camping and multi-sport tour business while between teaching jobs. I spent my first 5 years in this great state enjoying all of the finest things about it. I have a cute little house at the end of a road that I share with my dog.. and sometimes a room mate. At times there is also room for a couch surfer.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
Meet new people and making connections with those who are from different areas than me is so much fun. I also love seeing how people live. I am so often inspired by the creativity of others . It is so fun to share what we have in common and to learn from one another.
Centres d'intérêt
I love to explore the outdoors in many different ways and throughout all the seasons. I especially love to do multi- day river trips. On a daily basis I take nice walks or hikes on the trails, hills or mountains around Anchorage with my dog. I also like to ski and ride my bike, do yoga, cook, see live music and/ or a good movie from time to time.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
I like all kinds of music~ especially live acoustic singer/ songwriter shows in small venues.
My favorite movies are foreign or independent films. I like a good compelling story without much bloodshed or violence.
I don't read as much as I would like to. I am a bit too much of a busy body.. but I love the Alchemist, by Paulo Cuelo and all of Steinbeck's books.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Hmm.. I solo rowed a raft down the Grand Canyon from start to finish. It made me feel very strong and accomplished, though I had moments of fear and frustration. And since I was alone on my raft, I had a lot of time to think and experience nature in a a very present way. There were others on the trip, but I had volunteered to row a baggage boat for a commercial trip, so I could not take anyone with me on my raft. It was pretty awesome.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I love to teach what I know and I'd love to learn whatever you have to share! The best experiences, as far as I am concerned, are the ones where new perspectives come together, and everyone feels enriched by having new ways of looking at things and experiencing the world. We don't need to change each other, but gaining understanding and being open to knew ways of thinking breeds respect, open mindedness, tolerance and community.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
I love to be a participant in whatever I am involved in. I will contribute what I can as the need arises. I am very helpful. It has been instilled in me to always try to leave a place a little better than it was when I got there. I also have many great recipes in my head and love to cook!
