About Me
Physics & philosophy student living and studying in California! Back home for summer holidays and looking forward to exploring home.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've caught a bad case of wanderlust; I'm partial to poorly planned adventures. I'd love to meet some like minds, and to make some friends. All of my greatest memories from travelling have involved the incredible people that I've met along the way. I'm forever indebted to the hospitality of random strangers, so I'm looking forward to the day when I get my own apartment, and can return the favour.
Music, Movies, and Books
Usually influenced by what I'm reading at the time.
Music ~ Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Neil Young, Edith Piaf, Stromae, Enya, RHCPs, Deep Forest, Radiohead & Emancipator.
Favourite Authors ~ Ayn Rand, Hunter S. Thompson, Albert Camus
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Some of my favourite adventurous moments include:
- Randomly deciding to move to Nepal with only $400) and surviving 5 months amidst the fuel crisis and a brutal winter)
- Paragliding over Phewa Lake
- Recent geocaching misadventure. Ended up wading through an underground river that met an abandoned pipe-like tunnel, which had tree roots had permeated. The whole ordeal was reminiscent off a scene from the Hobbit.
Teach, Learn, Share
One of the little gems of wisdom that I've learned from my father (who is the biggest globe trotter & nomad I know) is that it always pays to keep a journal; especially whilst travelling. To record all the little things you learn along the way, and your favourite moments. It's interesting how the process of travelling always triggers and catalyses a great deal of self introspection.
To date, my compulsive journalling has resulted in me filling close to a dozen notebooks.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'd like to think that I'm good company! I'm always really appreciative for a couch, and when people are busy, I fully understand that sometimes you get too busy to interact with couchsurfers much. So I'm not going to hassle you. But that being said, I also wouldn't have any objections if you wanted to stay up until 4am, eat two minutes noodles with me, whilst rambling your thoughts about string theory or why the Simulation Hypothesis could be real. Or the shitty time when you were stuck in east asia on a squat toilet and had no toilet paper ~
On a more serious note, I'd be more than willing to cook dinner etc.
