About Me

Hey there! My name is Sophia, 19 years old and I moved to Marburg to study English, Political and Educational Sciences. I like getting to know new people and am always seeking to learn new languages (whilst my French is already pretty solid, I now want to start learning Spanish, Turkish, Italian, Arabic and Dutch, the list is endless). I'm equally interested in the culture and humour that go along with a language. Personally, I love really bad puns - however I always think they are not bad but incredibly funny. I'm a firm believer in the concept of "wegbier": having a beer on your way from A to B.

As I'm currently living in a dorm room for my studies, I'm not able to host any guests, but I'm still more than happy to show people around or share dinner with others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite book is definitely The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, however I am very interested in English literature and a huge fan of poetry.

I listen to all kinds of music, from indie to punk rock to rap to all kinds of international music and love going to concerts and festivals.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sziget Festival in Budapest in August 2017. I spent the whole week on the Island of Freedom getting to know people from across the globe, dancing and eating chimney cake. Fun fact: I also accidentally dropped a bowl of couscous on a guy to whom I had to explain what couscous was and why on earth I wanted to eat it in front of the stage, oh well.
